Concept :
Built for the 1964 Olympics, Hotel New Otani Tokyo was the tallest building in Japan at the time. The restaurant space on its top floor began life as a showcase to the world of Japan’s technological prowess. Now, with THE Sky restaurant, New Otani is looking to showcase Japan’s culinary skills to the world.Key Points :
THE Sky offers a totally new concept of dining where guests can choose their own ingredients and expert chefs will prepare them right in front of their eyes any way they like; sautéed, roasted, grilled, steamed or simmered in the "stage kitchen" with a variety of seasonings and sauces available. There are separate counters for teppanyaki, tempura and sushi, and you can also enjoy the Chinese and Western dishes included on the buffet.
Recommended Dishes :
THE Sky offers a lunch buffet at ¥6,500 on weekdays, ¥7,000 on weekends and a dinner buffet for ¥9,500 on weekdays, and ¥10,000 on weekends. Various cocktails are available from ¥1,300. They are designed with panoramic views of Tokyo and, on clear days, the iconic Mt. Fuji, which remains unchanged and just as beautiful as ever.
