Concept :

Morocco Tajine-ya has been dedicated to introducing authentic Moroccan food, specializing particularly in serving unique dishes native to Merzouga situated in the Sahara Desert.

Key Points :

Established in Tokyo in 2010, Tajine-ya, which is run entirely by staff from Merzouga dressed in traditional Moroccan clothing, has always strived to leave its local diners with an unforgettable taste of the Moroccan culture not only through its signature desert-inspired dishes, but also educational interaction with its Moroccan staff.

Recommended Dishes :

Over time, Tajine-ya has become the go-to place among people to experience Morocco before their actual trip to the North African country, with Kefta Tajine (¥1,700), or Moroccan meatballs, consistently being the most popular dish among Japanese diners. Moroccan Salad (¥800), which consists of 44 kinds of Moroccan spices, and house special Merzouga Kalia (¥2100), a beef stew with fresh tomato and vegetables, have also become favorites among first-timers to Moroccan food over a cup of Moroccan spiced coffee. Last but certainly not least, diners can, for ¥300, have their food cooked in argan oil, which is oil extracted from the kernels of argan tress native to Morocco, or enjoy it with bread. Alternatively, the restaurant’s “Perfect Beauty Drink,” a house concoction (¥1000) with lemon, argan oil and tomato juice offers a healthy dose of vitamins.
