Concept :

Conveniently located in front of Shimbashi station, Suikoden is a long-established izakaya restaurant with 40 years of history featuring seafood dishes and carefully selected Japanese sake. Diners can enjoy daily specials created with fresh ingredients selected by the head chef at the fish market every morning. Atypical for an izakaya restaurant, there are always English-speaking staff available to explain Japanese cuisine and sake in English. An English menu is also available and appreciated by Japanese people entertaining foreign guests.

Recommendations include the daily assorted seasonal sashimi (3 kinds: ¥580, 6 kinds: ¥1,080) and items such as broiled seasonal fish and grilled fish head are also popular. With standard a la carte items including seafood salad (¥980), fried chicken (¥580), grilled Atka mackerel and rosy seabass and a variety of deep-fried dishes, diners can enjoy a variety of seasonal Japanese dishes. They have more than 30 kinds of sake ranging from standard to rare brands that are available at at reasonable prices, including as Hakkaisan (¥480) and Dassai (¥550). Between 4pm and 7:30pm, Suikoden offers Happy Hour featuring free-flowing sake for 90 minutes (¥1,800), and guests can enjoy more than 20 kinds of sake.

The course menu is highly recommended allowing diners to enjoy various seasonal specialties. The most-popular course includes seven mainly seafood items and an all-you-can-drink plan for two hours at ¥5,000. Dinners will surely be satisfied with the large portions from a seasonal appetizer, assorted seasonal sashimi, grilled dish, deep-fried dish, special oshizushi (pressed sushi) and pickles to dessert. There is a private room with sunken kotatsu seats for 10-18 people and the restaurant can be reserved for private parties for 40-70 people, making Suikoden ideal for welcome and farewell parties, friendly gatherings and company drinking parties.
