Concept :Fresh Japanese ingredients meet classic Italian cuisine at Cucina Magica, a casual Italian restaurant where diners can enjoy themselves in a fun, unpretentious setting. As the name suggests, magic shows are performed in the restaurant, with special services available for birthday parties. The food, an eclectic mix of Italian and Japanese, is made using the finest ingredients and recommendations include the homemade bacon made from iberico pork belly, New Caledonia angel prawns (1,600 yen) and the stone oven pizzas (800 yen). A 500 yen menu featuring such treats as garlic edamame, homemade pickles and rice croquettes is also available. Cucina Magica boasts more than 50 wines including some organic, and all handpicked and tasted by owner-chef Nishizawa himself. The homemade umeshu made from famous Kishu Nanko plums and Moretti beer, a European Pale Lager are also popular. The chef will grill diners’ choices of meat, seafood and vegetables right in front of them. The restaurant offers a weekly lunch menu, along with a daily takeout bento. All-you-can-drink courses are also available from 5,000 yen and the entire space can be rented for up to 56 people for private events (Mon-Thu).
