Concept :

THE HIRAMATSU KYOTO is a small urban luxury hotel founded in March 2020 by Hiramatsu, which operates high-end restaurants and resort hotels nationwide. Located in the center of Kyoto, it stands at the historical address of Muromachi-dori Sanjo, home of the Muromachi Shogunate in the 14th century. This Kyomachiya, or Kyoto-style townhouse, which survived since the late 19th century, has been restored with modern technology while employing the traditional design of the time, incorporating into the building lattice-covered windows and exposed beams. With modern comforts and traditional details of Kyomachiya and antique furnishings, The Hiramatsu Kyoto is a special place that gives a feeling of “hannari,” or refined and gorgeous.

Key Points :

Japanese restaurant Izumi has a quiet dining space with a total of 12 seats. The interior is finished with fine materials such as wood, soil and paper, including a solid timber of Japanese zelkova used for the counter. Beyond the counter, there is a garden with pine trees, blue stones, and a miniature mountain covered with cedar moss, making you forget that you are in the center of the city. Chef Masato Koizumi, who has honed his skills at well-known restaurants throughout the city, welcomes you with Japanese cuisine using ingredients that are carefully selected daily. At the counter, the visually appealing dishes are presented before you in equally beautiful antique potteries such as Koimari and Bizen, and lacquerware sculpted by renowned artists.

Recommended Dishes :

Their recommendation is the seasonal chef’s choice omakase course (¥16,500). The Hiramatsu Kyoto is proud to house a large selection of Italian and French wines, allowing guests to try a variety of wines not typically found at Japanese restaurants for a unique pairing experience. For sake, there is a selection of brands from around Japan, with an emphasis on local Kyoto labels. Also available is a wide variety of other spirits, including Japanese whisky such as Yamazaki and more from all over the world.

*For groups, IZUMI can accept up to 6 people; for larger groups, please contact staff. Guests must be 12 years old or older.
