In Japan, there is no such custom of simply having “a few glasses before the meal.” However, champagne J. opens just a little earlier for this reason, providing a space to enjoy a glass or two of Champagne with the setting sun. The space itself was originally designed by the architect owner and is intentionally designed to be perfectly lit so that patrons can enjoy the refined atmosphere and the clarity of the Champagne. The owner pours 3 selectedglasses per night, a chardonnay, a pinot noir and a meunier, which display the unique flavor profile of Champagne. You can taste by the glass (¥2,100~) or in a 3-glass flight from the day’s recommendations, for ¥6,600. Customers can also purchase a bottle (¥15,000~) from their selection of over 140 varieties of Champagne. Recommendations change daily, so each time you visit you are sure to find something sparkling and new.
