In France, there is a custom of drinking a few glasses of Champagne in a cafe before a meal, called apero. In Japan, there is no custom of simply having “a few glasses before the meal.” However, champagne J. opens just a little earlier for this reason, providing a space to enjoy a glass or two of champagne with the setting sun. The space itself was originally designed by the architect owner and is intentionally designed to be perfectly lit so that patrons can enjoy the atmosphere and the clarity of the champagne. The beige stone tiles and wood create a warm, calm atmosphere where you can feel as if you were in your friend’s living room.
Key Points :Show your date your elegance and class by sharing a few drinks before or after a meal. This warm and welcoming environment is perfect for those who want to really start tasting the finer points of champagne. Even if you have never tasted wine before compared to other wines, champagne is relatively easy to drink and enjoy. So it is perfect for a beginner taster, or simply to toast a special occasion.
Recommended Dishes :The owner pours three recommended glasses per night, a Chardonnay, a pinot noir and a meunier, which display the unique flavor profile of Champagne. You can taste by the glass (¥1,500-¥2,800) or in a three glass set from the day’s recommended glasses, for around ¥5,000-¥6,000. Or purchase a bottle (from ¥12,600) from their selection of over 140 varieties of Champagne. Recommendations change daily, so each time you visit you are sure to find something sparkling and new.
