Concept :

Founded in 1885 during the Meiji Period, the brick flagship store of Kobe Beef Steak Restaurant Mouriya is loved by people as a symbol of Kobe. With the promise of providing only A4 or A5-ranked high-quality beef, they offer top-ranked Kobe beef and “Strictly Selected Mouriya beef.” Mouriya beef, from the bloodline of Tajima beef, is raised on the same feed in the same barn as purebred Tajima beef, the breeding cattle of Kobe beef. Strictly selected Mouriya beef is popular as the quality is comparable to Kobe beef yet the price is more reasonable. The interior of the Kobe shop is finished in stately stone and wood, with teppanyaki counters on the first to third floors, allowing diners to enjoy chef’s lively cooking performances right before their eyes.

Key Points :

One of Mouriya’s signatures is their unique “6-sided grilling method.” No matter how good beef is, the taste and texture will change depending on how it is grilled. By searing every side, the meat’s umami and juices, texture, aroma and slight sweetness is perfectly balanced. They also offer fresh seafood such as abalone, Ise lobster and prawns. There are various wines from all over the world, ranging from reasonably price to more extravagant, as well as Champagnes that pari well with beef.

Diners can choose cuts from top round, rump, rib eye, sirloin and fillet. The Mouriya Beef strictly selected sirloin steaks course (170g) starts from ¥10,500 and Kobe Beef finest fillet steak course (130g) starts from ¥17,500. They offer strictly selected Mouriya Beef lunch courses (top round steak 120g) from ¥4,500 and Kobe Beef lunch courses (top round steak 120g) from ¥5,500, including soup, salad, grilled vegetables, bread or rice, coffee or tea. For dinner, the Strictly Selected Mouriya Beef course (top round steak 160g) starts from ¥5,900, while the Kobe Beef course (top round steak 160g) starts from ¥6,900. Both courses include appetizer, soup, salad, grilled vegetables, bread or rice and coffee or tea.
