Concept :

MAISEN is a historic and authentic washoku restaurant celebrating 50 years. Famous for a pork cutlet so tender and juicy, it can be cut with chopsticks, MAISEN is very popular with its loyal customers.

Key Points :

The large dining hall was renovated from a traditional Japanese bathhouse that was open until 1977. The building and the antique Eames chairs, vaulted ceilings and thick Showa-Era beams give MAISEN a retro-modern feel. The restaurant offers many different kinds of pork, and the Okita black pork is definitely worth trying. MAISEN carefully selects their ingredients, including the custom-ordered breadcrumbs and pure sunflower frying oil, ensuring perfectly crisp and juicy cutlets, which are fantastic with their original sauce.

Recommended Dishes :

Recommendations include the black pork loin filet set (3,100 yen) and the black pork cutlet bowl (1,630 yen). The Sashimi Gozen, featuring sashimi-of-the-day, deep fried dishes, braised pork belly from their exclusive pork, rice, miso soup and pickles (1,870 yen) and the Wakabazen set includes sushi and soba with a pork cutlet (1,870 yen) are also popular. There are also a la carte selections and an extensive selection of drinks, including beer, whiskey, wine and sake. For the best pork cutlet, MAISEN is well worth a visit.
