Concept :Il Boccalone is a well-established Italian Trattoria that has been pleasing diners with authentic traditional Italian cuisine since 1989. As the bilingual staff warmly welcomes diners, the homey Italian-themed decor transports them straight to Italy.
Key Points :Il Boccalone's dishes are renowned for their generous portions and "Cucina della Mamma," or taste of mother's home cooking. The nostalgic flavors draw diners from all over the world and the restaurant is a favorite among Italians. The owner and chef have traveled extensively throughout Italy, sourcing out the best flavors, techniques and ingredients. Il Boccalone was one of the first restaurants in Japan to offer T-bone steak Fiorentina-style (1,400 yen per 100g.) after installing a charcoal kiln. Succulent and juicy, the perfectly seasoned, melt-in-the-mouth steak is a treat for the palate.
Recommended Dishes :The menu features a variety of Italian favorites such as Risotto alla parmigiana (1,800 yen) that is served directly from a wheel of parmigiano that is imported from Italy weekly, zucchini flowers fried and stuffed with mozzarella cheese and anchovies (1,600 yen) and several delicious pasta options. The wine menu offers a large selection from across Italy, ranging from popular to "Super Toscana" bottles.
