Concept :
BENITSUYA is a Japanese restaurant where diners can experience authentic Japanese kaiseki cuisine and traditional Japanese geisha culture in a gorgeous Japanese modern space with crimson walls and Japanese decorations.
It opened in November 2024 on the 6th floor of Grand Hammer, a food entertainment and leisure building created by Producer Hamakura, who developed Ebisu Yokocho, Shibuya Yokocho, Kabuki Hall and more.
Supervised by Naoki Okumura of Gion Okumura, they offer a high-quality Japanese course from Kyoto and traditional Japanese performing arts such as dance by authentic geisha right in front diners. It provides a place where not only businesspeople, but also a wide range of guests from all over Japan and overseas can casually experience playing with authentic geisha, which is part of the geisha culture, and learn the etiquette. It also creates a place where geisha can perform traditional performing arts, and plays a role as a place to connect the historic geisha culture to the next generation.
Key Points :
The course menu is a gorgeous mix of seasonal Japanese and Western cuisine, befitting a cultural and glamorous time with a geisha. You can choose from the Matsu Course (7 dishes for ¥27,000) and Take Course (5 dishes for ¥22,000). It offers a full course menu of seasonal cold appetizers, sashimi, fish and meat dishes. They also offer assortment of side dishes for sake Ume (¥15,000). The fee includes seating, food, and the geisha fee, while drinks can be ordered separately on the day. There are seatings at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm, and each includes a geisha performance and ozashiki-game time, as well as a Japanese course meal. They also offer a selection of Japanese whiskys, such as Yamazaki, which go well with Japanese food, as well as seasonal and limited sakes.Recommended Dishes :
Not only can it be used for entertaining and dining, but it can also be rented out for private use for up to 30 people, making it ideal for corporate parties.Compared to expensive traditional Japanese restaurants, BENITSUYA offers a reasonable and casual place to spend time with real geisha. Diners can an unforgettable and special moment in a beautiful setting.
