Key Points :
Owner-chef Nagami Takumi trained at the renowned Roan Kikunoi Kiyamachi in Kyoto and served a few years as the official chef at the residence of an esteemed Cabinet member of London. Even foreign guests can feel at ease on their first time trying Japanese kaiseki. Nagami is keen to provide descriptions of each dish he presents in English and is happy to allow conversation to flow freely among his guests at the counter.Recommended Dishes :
Omakase means entrusting the entire dining experience to the chef's careful hands, expert judgment and understanding of your preferences. At Asakusa Nagami, the only decision to be made is whether you go in the day or evening. The lunch course (¥8,800) comes with 6 exquisite dishes, including dessert. The 9-item dinner course (¥19,800) is a flurry of enchanting appetizers, sashimi, boiled and clay-baked dishes, savory entrée, flavorful rice dishes and other traditional Japanese items created with a modern twist. Nagami, who hails from Tottori, shows his pride by importing local ingredients from his hometown, including the most prized junmai daiginjo sake, the highest standard category, which he offers alongside other select Japanese wines in his drink pairings.- Address:
