コンセプト :HANAMAI, near Yasaka Shrine in Gion, Kyoto, sees Chef Hiroshi Maeda welcome guests as they pass through the entrance of this tastefully renovated Japanese house. Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1985, and under the influence of his chef father, he chose the path of cooking for his life as well, studying hard at restaurants in Arashiyama and Kyoto. Now, as an experienced chef, he is building on the foundations of traditional Kyoto cuisine, offering dishes that allow diners to experience Japanese seasonal ingredients with all five senses.
キーポイント :Based on Shiraki, the interior is decorated with Ajiro-style ceilings and Naguri processed pillars to provide diners a feeling of Kyoto. A getaway from the busy alley it is located in, Hanamai is a quiet retreat sure to satisfy guests visiting Kyoto for sightseeing, as well as business meetings and special occasions.
お勧め料理 :In the monthly courses, seasonal and colorful items are served in a timely manner with some dishes cooked in front of guests to complete the unique experience. The delicate and gentle flavors perfectly express the essence of the ingredients, making Maeda's work feel bespoke, offering a quintessential Japanese meal. They offer lunch kaiseki courses (¥5,500 and ¥8,800) and dinner kaiseki courses (¥12,100, ¥18,150 and ¥24,200).
