Concept :
Shunbou serves authentic Japanese kaiseki and kappo menus, created with premium ingredients to allow guests to taste the four seasons of Japan. The restaurant’s chef de cuisine travels across Japan to source seasonal ingredients that showcase the country’s spectacular culinary diversity, including Shunbou-mai, the restaurant’s exclusive rice. Shunbou’s elegant courses are served in a main dining room designed by Takashi Sugimoto, featuring an Aji-ishi stone counter, or in Japanese-style private rooms with sunken kotatsu seating.
The restaurant’s relaxed, light-filled setting incorporates elements of Japan’s natural beauty and allows guests to feel the changing seasons. There are 5 private rooms that can accommodate 6 to 12 people.
Key Points :
Shunbou’s menus boast a variety of seasonal specialties, including Shunbou-mai, an exclusive rice that’s only available at this restaurant. Shunbou’s expert chefs also develop regional menus that celebrate Japan’s culinary diversity.Recommended Dishes :
The restaurant’s exclusive rice (¥4,940) and sake (¥4,950) are created from a special strain of tsuya-hime rice, developed in collaboration with local food producers in Yamagata Prefecture. The restaurant also serves a popular wagyu sukiyaki (¥15,400), featuring A5-grade Hida beef cooked in a traditional ceramic pot. For lunch, guests can enjoy Shunsai (¥6,600), a three-tier bento box filled with seasonal delicacies. There are 5 lunch and 3 dinner courses available, in addition to limited-time seasonal course menus created by Shunbou’s chef de cuisine.
