Concept :Opened in 2002 and tucked just steps behind the Cerulean Tower, Lo-d is a quiet and cozy respite in the heart of bustling Shibuya. Chef Takafumi Miyazu’s upbringing by the sea and surrounded by nature, instilled in him a sincere appreciation for ingredients. Lo-d welcomes customers with its intimate decor, an open room with high ceilings and large windows finished in layers of green. Whether alone or part of a group, enjoy sitting on one of the custom-made leather sofas with the intimacy of candlelight and smooth jazz in the background. Recommendations include tomato cream spaghetti with sea urchin (1,680 yen) smoked mackerel with sour mashed potatoes (1,150 yen) and roasted French duck with a honey and red wine sauce (2,090 yen). With more than 50 types of wine on hand, Lo-d’s sommeliers are ready to guide diners though the list. Lo-d’s mojito is a favorite, carefully prepared by mashing a generous portion of rare peppermint to fully extract its essence. A wide variety of non-alcoholic cocktails, soft drinks, coffee and herb teas are available for all to enjoy. The restaurant offers two set courses (3,000 yen/4,000 yen) with all-you-can-drink included for 4,980 and 5,980 yen. There is also built-in AV equipment for private parties.
