Concept :

Kihuu describes Japanese cuisine as an “inheritance of wisdom” and takes pride in preserving its legacy in the cosmopolitan streets of Ebisu. This dedication to honoring Japan’s culinary traditions is reflected in every dish, inviting guests to savor the spirit of the changing seasons, harmonized by an exceptional selection of sake and wines chosen by sommelier and sake brewer himself, Owner Chef Shirota Sumikaze. In response to popular demand, World Gourmet Guide-awarded Kihuu has recently expanded its lunch offerings from Saturdays to weekdays. Whether entertaining guests, celebrating special occasions, or hosting family gatherings, diners can experience the same seasonal sophistication that defines Kihuu’s dinner courses.

Kifu is more than a restaurant; it is a place where connections are forged—between diners and the ingredients, between the past and the present. With every dish, Kihuu offers a moment to appreciate Japan’s culinary artistry and the timeless traditions that continue to flourish in Ebisu’s ever-evolving landscape. 10 minutes from Ebisu station (H02), east exit.

Key Points :

The clean scent of wood is the first thing you will notice stepping inside the restaurant’s sukiya-style interior, inspired by traditional Japanese architecture. Guests may choose to dine at the counter, where they can witness the chef's artistry up close, or opt for the exclusivity of private rooms, ideal for moments of celebration or refined business engagements. The alcove, adorned with carefully selected seasonal flowers, serves as a subtle yet poignant reminder of nature’s ever-changing beauty, creating an ambiance that reflects the rhythm of the seasons and enhances the dining experience with a sense of timeless grace. This tranquil setting serves as the perfect backdrop for a meal that seamlessly blends artistry and flavor, featuring an array of seafood, game, and fresh vegetables.

Recommended Dishes :

A master of the spirit of Japanese cuisine, Chef Shirota crafts monthly courses that celebrate the changing seasons, incorporating themes inspired by Japanese customs and events. The weekday Lunch courses start at ¥14,520 yen, while Dinner Courses start from ¥18,150. The menu is a harmonious reflection of Japan's distinct seasons, featuring the finest ingredients at their peak. In spring, the delicate flavors of bamboo shoots and shellfish take center stage, while summer offers the subtle sweetness of sweetfish and the richness of conger eel. Autumn is marked by the prized matsutake mushrooms, and winter showcases the opulence of crab and creamy milt.
