Concept :KATSUKICHI is a long-established tonkatsu (pork cutlet) restaurant founded about 60 years ago. The liberal use of wood, including aged pillars and beams and thick tables of solid zelkova, and various antiques creates an atmosphere of an old Japanese home. They have a collection of antique Imari lacquerware sobachoko (cups for soba dipping sauce). The Shin-Maru Building branch has a counter made of a five-meter-long solid zelkova timber. Stepping into the restaurant, diners will be amazed by 500 antique sobachoko (cups for soba dipping sauce) displayed just inside.
Key Points :KATSUKICHI chefs pick out the highest-quality pork every day, choosing from various domestic brands. They deep-fry the breaded cutlets slowly and at low temperature to bring out the full flavor in the light and crispy tonkatsu. Tonkatsu dish is served with delicious farm-to-table vegetables, tasty shiso rice and miso soup, all of which are chemical-free, allowing the true flavors to shine.
Recommended Dishes :Recommendations include the Japanese Brand Pork Cutlet Combo (Loin ¥2,300; Deluxe Fillet ¥3,000). The Shusai course (¥3,300), allows diners to enjoy KATSUKICHI’s signature deep-fried dish as well as pickles, fish and a grilled dish for a reasonable price.
