コンセプト :
Proudly adorned with a Portuguese flag in Tokyo’s Chuo district, Casa de Souza, opened only half a year ago, is anything but your typical new kid on the block: it is the first Macanese-style Portuguese restaurant in Japan. It is owned by two Macau-born gourmets who have made it their mission to change the image among Japanese of Portuguese cuisine being high-class by introducing authentic, affordable Portuguese dishes characteristic of Macanese staples.キーポイント :
Both owners have also invested heavily in Portugal’s traditional red and green-tinted floral-themed interior decorations to create a relaxing setting for all, with a giant map-like artwork painted on tin-glazed wall tiles showing Portugal’s glorious maritime history.お勧め料理 :
Customized to each guest’s unique palate using homegrown herbs and paired with fine Portuguese wines, several dishes served at Souza’s, notably Portuguese Duck Rice (¥1,980) and Garlic-flavored Shrimp in Beer and Butter Sauce (¥1,380), which perfectly meets the Japanese love of both beer and shrimp, have become favorites among local diners. In the Portuguese Duck Rice, the rice is boiled in duck-bone broth for 3 days before being fried with duck fat. Braised Pork Trotters (¥1,380) have also proven to be very popular with diners. The succulent Portuguese-African Chicken (¥2,080) is also a must as it goes amazingly well with bread.
