Concept :
Tajima-ya specializes in super dry-aged beef, which means they dry age an entire cow for more than 45 days, giving it a sweet taste. Experts in Kobe beef, guests are invited to enjoy super dry-aged Kobe Beef. Since opening in 1971, Tajimaya has grown to nine restaurants in Osaka and opened its first Tokyo branch in Toranomon Hills in June 2014.Key Points :
At the entrance to the restaurant, there is a large display case giving guests a look at the dry-aging process first hand. The interior is quiet and calm, with a stylish décor featuring table seating in addition to a private room for up to eight people. One of the house specialties is the "Black and Blue Steak," which is cooked at an extremely high temperature very quickly, leaving it charred on the outside, but still rare or raw on the inside.Recommended Dishes :
For lunch, dry-aged Japanese beef sets start at ¥2,700, while for dinner, Tajima-ya offers dry-aged premium Japanese A4 beef lank bone sirloin (¥9,000 for 300g; ¥15,000 for 650g). Also available is dry-aged Kobe beef bone sirloin (¥40,000 for 800g) and other rare cuts such as rump (¥8,000 for 150g) and butt (¥6,000 for 150g). With a set that includes beef carpaccio, bagna cauda, plain tripe, salad and bread (¥2,800) a trip to Tajima-ya is sure to be a memorable one.
