Concept :

Hana-wa-Saku is a Sanuki Udon Noodle restaurant in Tokyo, which is the 1st prize winner of the Udon Noodle championship 2017 in Eastern Japan, and also was chosen as one of the 100 best Udon restaurants on the Tabelog restaurant website in July 2018. “Hana-wa-Saku” means “flower blossom” in English. They offers Tokyo-style Sanuki Udon Noodles incorporating the essence of high-quality Japanese cuisine into reinterpreted Sanuki Udon Noodles. Following the Shin-Nakano main branch and the Shinjuku-Toyama branch, their third branch opened near Shinjuku-Gyoen in August, 2018. The restaurant has a bright and homey atmosphere to welcome families, couples and even those solo guests.

Key Points :

Aiming to become a restaurant with the best hospitality in the world, they carefully select only body-friendly ingredients such as Udon noodles made from flour produced in Japan, rich bonito soup, superb Wagyu beef, organic vegetables, agrochemical-free vegetables, and Edo Tokyo vegetables to provide dishes carefully and heartily cooked. Their Udon Noodles blend four kinds of Japanese flour with low protein that do not get hard even after cooking, creating a gelatinous texture.

Recommended Dishes :

The signature dish is the “Superb A5 Wagyu Sukiyaki Udon Noodles” (¥1,600), made with A5-ranked Sendai Black Wagyu beef. The “Hawa-wa-Saku Salad” (¥800), using organic and agrochemical-free vegetables with original vegetable dressing is the most popular side menu item. “Tempura Udon Noodles” (¥1,400), with crispy large shrimp tempura is popular as well. “Nakano Vege Curry Udon Noodles” (¥950) are available at the Shin-Nakano main branch. “Colorful Vegetable Kakiage Tempura Bukkake Udon Noodles” (¥950) is perfectly prepared cooked and diners can enjoy it as a fantastic photogenic item. For those who want to enjoy a variety of recommended dishes, they also offer set menus. A casual course (¥2,800) includes 5 items such as seasonal tempura and colorful vegetable salad with udon noodles. The Hana-wa-Saku course (¥4,800) includes several kinds of tempura, Hana-wa-Saku salad, meat dish, your-choice of udon noodles and all-you-can-drink for 2 hours. The friendly smiles and warm welcome from the staff ensure that guests will want to keep coming back again and again.
